Hello again, Blog Reader!
So, I’m back from Landahn Town. I had a very nice feeling of belonging being home again for the first time since July (along with acting like a bit of a tourist, my sister confirmed). It was wonderful to connect with old and new friends, keep up with London’s winter collections and visit some of my favourite UK based boutiques and designers.
I’m catching up on my writing now I’m back in Manhattan and I want to start with one of my outfits during New York Fashion Week. I have several mild obsessions at the moment, largely fuelled by fashion weeks and my recent travels. My list of current obsessions include Peter Pilotto dresses; Atelier Bordelle accessories and asymmetric hemlines, amongst other things.
On the asymmetric note, the jacket I am wearing here is currently on sale from ASOS. Whilst the neon and neutral colours are very ‘now’, I was mostly attracted to the shape and details of the design – the exposed zips, the cap sleeve detailing and the slanted, pointy hemline. I love the power in this design as I think it’s reminiscent of the 80s – like I DIY-ed a Members Only jacket. When the jacket is old I’ll be able to give it a new lease of life as a my fancy dress costume of choice – paired with leg warmers and soldering iron I think I could work the Alex Owens from Flashdance look, no?
Photos by the awesomeness that is Lydia Hudgens.
I’ve mostly been pairing the jacket with skinny jean leggings but I’m also going to try it with a bandage skirt and some cropped pants over the next week. I want to keep the rest of the outfit simple to let the jacket be the focus (though I am sorely tempted to invest in some neon heels.)
So, blog writing or welding? It’s a tough choice…
Welcome back, Blog Reader! How have you been? StyleOnTheCouch xo

Welcome back, Sarah! It’s wonderful to hear you had a good visit home, but you were certainly missed while you were away. With that said, you’re back in very good form two-tone asymetric jacket from Asos. If you hadn’t said it was now on sale, I would never have guessed it wasn’t absolutely current – it’s so perfect for spring, it looks like it just leapt out of one of the lookbooks for the season. And it could definitely benefit from the addition of some neon bracelets – but, like you, I probably would be more likely to pair it with skinny jeans
Can’t wait to hear more about your travels!
xox,
Cee
Bracelets – you just reminded me that my second style challenge this year was to accessorise more. I’m failing slightly on that one so maybe I need to re-asses! It was great to have a blogging break Cee but I’m looking forward to catching up with my blog reading. I missed all the new posts I see on a regular basis x
Do it (neon heels) – I think if you went orange or pink it will roll over to AW12 at least… xxx
South Molton St Style
I was thinking the pair we saw in TopShop would work a treat, although I imagine breaking my poor ankles with the size of those heels!!
looks amazing … as I said love the Pink details in it and 80s reference are always the best! haha .. looking forward to more of your NYFW images & fashion styles! good to have you back.. and still waiting to see some images of you and the lovely Milla from London! How was it? xo
I’m busy writing a post on the breakfast we had together, I think I’ll write New York Fashion Week first though Cam, will keep you posted. It was lovely to meet Milla and Kasia in London, bizarrely I felt like it was quite a normal thing to do with friends I knew well rather than an anxious first meeting. The power of Twitter, for sure!
Really want to swipe that top from you – the colors & shape are so beautiful…love it!
I am surprised I haven’t seen it on your blog already, you always post things I want to buy right away!
Lovely to see you back!
The jacket is absolutely gorgeous! Looks very designer and really suits you.

happy monday, sarah! xxx
I need an update on your move Nicole! As soon as work dies down a bit after my break I will catch up with your blog – hope you’re well! x
Love the jacket! it is great you have the opportunity to fly back and forth between the places you love. I heard it was hard to get citizenship in the UK, I would love to live there one day.

Weirdly Bianca the visa process between the UK and the US is one of the hardest. I feel so lucky to have lived in both New York and London, two amazing and very different cities. If you have the chance to spend some time in London then go for it, there is so much culture there and things to do and see….
Welcome back!!!
Well hello there DC lady! Looking forward to catching up with Rosa Loves soon!
I missed you! I hope you had so much fun! I absolutely LOVE this top from asos you are wearing! Gorgeous!
Hi M! Aw thank you! I’m having such a hectic week and I’m behind on my blog reading but looking forward to reading what you’ve been up to since I left for London. See you over on Twirly skirts soon!
Welcome back and I love love love the jacket. Of course I like the pop of color but the shape is to die for too. It looks fab on you!
Lissy, you should definitely visit London Fashion Weekend sometime, if you happen to time your trip with London Fashion Week. You might need to hide the credit card, but so many great shopping opportunities underneath the one roof! x
Love this little jacket

Wow, wow, wow, this jacket is stunning!! I have a feeling any color in that cut would look very nice, but the neon and khaki combo is killer. Well chosen for fashion week festivities, simple and chic!
Love the jacket , looks gorg on you! asos is still fab for quirky finds and nice cuts I think
