Friday Lingerie Lust: Maison Close

I first read about lingerie brand Maison Close on some of my favourite blogs before I stumbled across their designs in that little gem of a lingerie boutique ‘Azaleas‘ in the East Village, NYC.  I’ve featured them before as a Friday Lingerie post and with four new collections ready to tantalize and seduce, it’s time to feature them again.

If you are looking for lingerie that is well priced, comfortable and enormously sensual, Maison Close is perfect for you.  The brand is committed to the game of love: erotic, chic and refined.  From their lookbook:

Maison Close shows pride in its commitment to a peculiarly French style of love games in which gallantry and naughty pleasures form a perfect blend. The brand plays with the notions of control and submission, secrecy and revelation, retention and ecstasy, with each successive collection avoiding the pitfall of vulgarity and showy exhibitionism.”

New collections include Villa Satine in black (second image) available now and Exquise Allure, (image top) available to purchase from January on the Maison Close website.  I very much like how the simplicity of the set in the very first image translates into such an alluring (naturally, given the name) design – having previously brought out Pavillon Bellevue in ivory, I was pleased to see the label include these styles in particular in the new collection.  A bodysuit and long sleeved dress complete the series.

I own several Maison Close designs and some of their accessories too, which I feel make perfect gifts – they are presented in elegant purple boxes almost the colour of Milk Tray**.  Affordable and attractive, how can you resist?

You can purchase Maison Close direct from their website. Also from Faire Frou Frou, Shop Des Createurs, Coco De Mer and Journelle.

*Oo la laaaa indeed.

Friday Lingerie Lust: Blush Fall Winter 2012

I go weak at the knees for Blush.  This is the brand’s third appearance on a lingerie lust post on StyleOnTheCouch and their fall winter campaign for 2012 has me coveting the vast majority of the new styles.  Blush are a wonderfully opulent label within an accessible price range and in this current collection there is a little something for everyone.

Each design is a sensual, voluptuous piece of lingerie so it was incredibly difficult to pick my favourites from the new collection here.  This soft cup bra and high waisted brief (image above) – Covet ties for first place with the beautifully structured corset Etoile, below.  The colour palette for fall mixes different hues of pink and lavender with midnight blue and black.  We also see the introduction of animal prints into the collection for the first time (image far below).

Minx (below) and Closer are guaranteed to bring out the feline in you.

At this point I need to ask if you are still interested in my words, Blog Reader, such are the fabulous editorial images in this post.

No? I thought not.  Well then, I simply direct you to the Blush website to view the entire collection.  All that remains is for me to wish you a fabulous weekend! Until tomorrow, when we have a little #TeamGB on the couch…..

You can purchase Blush from Bloomingdales and Bare Necessities.  You can also shop at Anthropologie and Journelle in New York City.  A full list of stockists is available via the Blush website.

Friday Lingerie Lust: Electric Ibiza

Despite my many travels around the big US of A, Blog Reader, I do miss the island of Ibiza, where I would holiday to most summers from the UK.  Ibiza is a perfect mix of all my favourite things; great food and restaurants (like La Masia) fabulously energetic bars (I love Blue Marlin) and beautiful beaches (such as Cala D’hort and Las Salines).

When I stumbled upon Electric Ibiza, a lingerie brand based on the white isle specialising in bodysuits and lavish underwear, I knew I had to post it in a Friday feature.  Founded in 2012 by Emma Sharpe, graduate of the well respected contour training at DeMontford University, UK, these hand crafted designs are unique and that little bit cheeky.

I asked designer Emma Sharpe a few questions about her brand:

Why lingerie?
I have always known I wanted to be in the fashion industry.  I had always excelled at art from a young age and would constantly sit and draw fashion illustrations. I started a fashion course at college where I created my first corset – I think it was at this point I knew it was lingerie and contour garments that were my true passion.
What was the most important thing you learned during your training, that you’ve taken forward into your design business?
Joining the contour course was the best thing I ever did. It is truly an amazing course – I think the most important thing that I learned from my time studying at DeMontfort was to think outside the box.  Lingerie doesn’t necessarily have to mean frilly lace bras and briefs, there is so much more you can create.

I’m a huge fan of Ibiza. How did you end up on the island?
I’ve lived here for 4 years now, I love the place. I came here in my final year of university for the summer before my final major project.  It gave me so much inspiration, my final collection was based on Ibiza – creating bodywear that would take you from the beach to the clubs. I also fell in love that summer and I guess that was the main reason for me moving permanently out here – so I could be with my partner.
What is your favourite piece from your current range, and why?
I absolutely love the Eloisa frill bodysuit – the fit is amazing and the colour palette looks so fantastic with an Ibiza tan! It has been my best seller here – I see people at Blue Marlin in it teamed with sandals and sunglasses and it looks great.

Who do you design for? Who do you have in mind when you create your lingerie?
My lingerie is designed for any woman that loves a little luxury. I always try to create things that are different but that still fit well and are comfortable. I try to create lingerie that you want to show off – wearing garments that reveal a cheeky bow or strap detail.

Thank you, Emma! For more information on Electric Ibiza, including their online shop, click here to visit their website.
