A Case of the Mean Reds (Updated!)

Back in December I posted a fashion dilemma over what to wear with my new red Gap legging jeans. WordPress did me a huge favour by posted my feature on ‘Freshly Pressed‘ and you, Blog Reader, gave me some amazing ideas of how to style them.

I wanted to update you on how me and my red jeans are getting on.  It’s a very loving relationship right now, we spend a great deal of time together and we’re learning each other’s likes and dislikes.  As I’ve come to know my jeans better, I realise that they love to be partnered with nautical stripes, which was one of my favourite suggestions from the original feature:

“Love them! Perhaps wear them with black, white, grey, light beige, or even a breton top? Just throwing on a cool t-shirt with these would look fab. I need to find me some coloured denim” ~ Dempeaux
“I see a casual look of a stripped tee with a fun belt” ~ Susan

You guys impressed me so much with the details you went into….

“Neutrals work, but predictable like black. …if you’re gonna wear red, go bold. Striped blue and white/beige top for nautical spring. Some mulberries or purples will go depending if jeans red is blue-ish. If red has orange-ish tones , think pinks toned colors or orange hues and yellow. Bulky oatmeal sweater may work as well as the one you have” ~ Philosopher Mouse Of The Hedge (aka future stylist.)

It reminded me why I love fashion blogging so much :-)

Also suggestions on accessories were really helpful:

“I’d try a cream sleeveless shirt, with a bronze or gold belt, gold heels” ~ Lgreendoor

I am quite sure the mean reds will return on the blog in the near future, in an outfit post featuring your other thoughts (Tonya I loved your chambray skirt idea!)

Thank you so much for being a fabulous StyleOnTheCouch reader xo
