My Nine West x Pose Style Challenge

This Wednesday sees the start of my Nine West x Pose ’Style Challenge’, Blog Reader!

Each Wednesday for nine weeks I will be creating a different outfit around the same pair of shoes – the MsFabulous sandal.  You can check out my outfits on the Nine West Pose page (be sure to sign up and follow!) where I will be competing against another ‘poser’ each week.

Click on the image below to link to Pose (also available as an app for Iphone and Android). Pose is a platform to discover fashion, where posers can upload outfits and tag items in their ensemble (a category of clothing or a brand) and share their style within the community.  (I’m a little bit addicted, I confess…)

You can vote for your favourite style (all votes pour moi will be very much appreciated if you should like my outfit!) and this action automatically enters you into a competition for a chance of winning the shoes for yourself.

For my first outfit I chose a style I am quite comfortable with (and I am sure you all are familiar with this now, Blog Reader, ‘the dress’.)  A short while ago I introduced you to Three Floor Fashion and this Hidden Gems Midi Dress is a true diamond from their current summer collection. I think the shoes compliment the pleats and nude/lace front panel perfectly.

My Bordelle Leather ‘O’ Bracelet completes the outfit.  Let the challenge commence!

Wearing: Leather ‘O’ bracelet from Bordelle; Hidden Gems Dress from Three Floor Fashion and MsFabulous heels from Nine West.

Special thank you for the wonderful Lydia Hudgens for the photography.

Nine West approached me to take part in this challenge and are sponsoring my stylish efforts.  I decided to take on this challenge as I am a fan of Nine West, having purchased several of their styles in the past. You’ve likely seen me wearing Nine West before, for example here and here.  For this challenge however Nine West supplied me with these shoes free of charge and I’m sharing this with you because it’s a little different to my usual features.  And so now, let the styling fun commence!

PS Please note my deep red nails on this shoot.  My very first manicure after years of nail biting (Merci Anne who treated me!) Or at least: Mum please note my deep red nails on this shoot – yes I am finally all grown up :-)

StyleOnTheCouch Loves: Three Floor Fashion

Refinery 29 named Three Floor Fashion one of their labels to watch this year.  I’ve also had my eye on this emerging brand who are creating affordable, contemporary and cutting edge designs.  Three Floor have put together some beautiful lookbooks for their collections – the current one reminds me of Bertolucci’s film ‘The Dreamers’ with its romantic colours and youthful styling.  For summer a sensual palette of cool white, apricot and blush pink meets with a little drama in the bolder, brighter tones of crimson, aqua and navy.

I own the Element Dress from Three Floor Fashion, a bodycon style with velvet bandage detail:

I’m almost loathe to share (!) but I’ve had my eye on this Hidden Gems dress for a few weeks now (image below, dress on the left).  Mesh, lace and pleated chiffon tick a lot of boxes for me this summer:

Below: Another of my favourite dresses from Three Floor, the French Exchange Midi Dress.  With contrasting panelling in the colours rouge red and nude this is a very striking summer piece. I especially like the sheer and flirty pleats:

Although I have focussed largely on the dresses from Three Floor in this post, the brand have several separates too.  The Race Sequin Shorts and Sun ‘Del’ Ray Dip Hem Shirt make for a very hip summer outfit.  Another of my favourites (yes, there are many, ahem) is the Bare Neath Peplum Top, a very cute mesh and neoprene design with clever geometric contouring to give the illusion of nipped waist.

Above: a selection of dresses from Three Floor.  Below: the Delight Dress, currently available for pre-preorder.  Another two-tone number with nude and aqua panels, it has a unique two level skirt – not one of those ‘high low’ designs but skirt-cape kind of style.

I like my Element Dress for its luxe feel and interesting cut out pattern.  It’s something very different for me and I’ve been wearing it with my Helmut Lang jacket and Dorothy Perkins black patent pumps (closest match here).

I hope you do check out Three Floor Fashion sometime, Blog Reader – they are creating some very innovative and affordable designs, so don’t miss out!

Manhattan Weekend…

The sun was out in force in Manhattan this weekend and it was my first chance to break out the mini dresses I love.  I first featured this ASOS dress on the blog at the very same time last year – proving that it’s a spring favourite of mine.  Sadly it’s no longer in stock but you can find similar ‘mini’ styles at ASOS here, here and here.  It’s a rather flirty little number – what can I tell you, when the sun comes out, I have a naughty glint in my eye…..!

This weekend was also a rather relaxed affair, a chance to catch up with friends, dream of summer holidays, look to the blue skies and indulge a little in my favourite things….

In the spirit of my current ‘accessories challenge’ I also wore my new Raj Bracelet (a ring and a bracelet as one) from Jewel Mint.  It’s the first of the two Coachella music weekends here in the US and I’ve been feeling a little inspired by the festival outfits I’ve been seeing from the event.  A little sparkle of gold metal, a little blue hue – my Sunday outfit.

How did you spend your weekend, Blog Reader?
