MadebyNoemi_classic1In the second of my ‘where I shop’ lingerie features, I bring you the wonderfully simple but beautifully crafted ‘Classic’ collection from Made by Noemi, driven by the belief that classic means timeless; always in fashion.

There are some lingerie styles that really should be an investment in the same way that your closet contains the perfect white shirt; the wear-everywhere leather jacket and those well-fitting pair of jeans.  Designer Noemi Ivanova has an aesthetic lean towards both basic and thematic collections, but the Classic collection is my new favourite as it excels in both simple beauty and function.

Produced in cotton and lace (there is also new beachwear collection, which I shall spoil you with another time):

“A key factor in the Classic collection is the fabric: it has to be perfect. The collection is produced in cotton and in lace. I wanted, and finally found, a thin cotton fabric and a lace fabric that met my requirements for quality, lightness and comfort.” - Noemi Ivanova

My favourites are the cotton soft cup bras - which have cross back straps and front fixture which I feel is a great detail for comfort – and the black lace panties.

Noemi continues:

“The Classic collection is at the core of the Made by Noemi brand. My aim is to create well-fitting and beautiful garments, and I have come up with a few styles that I believe should be in every woman’s lingerie closet. Having done this for over ten years I know what works and what doesn’t. But this doesn’t mean that things don’t evolve. Over the years, the styles have been modified and the details refined, but the core vision has remained the same: to enable women to feel comfortably, as well as a bit more luxuriously, dressed – every day.”

It is, Blog Reader, almost the Easter holiday weekend here in the UK.  To those of you not familiar with UK bank holidays this means two four-day working weeks and a chance to re-charge batteries.  I’m very much looking forward to a visit from my friend Anna from South Molton St Style here in my new country-abode and I’m also doing a fair bit of exploring of my new surroundings too.

Given that I’m in a lovely bank holiday spirit right now I wanted this post to be about some of my favourite things fashion-wise in the shops presently.  First of all, Made By Noemi has become my favourite place to shop for bodysuits and you may have seen designer Noemi Ivanov’s white bodysuit on the blog before (click here for the link).  Her floral body is a piece I wear often.  Currently her Feather Body is high on my wish list – a great loungewear style.

So here you have it, my fashion favourites for your holiday shopping weekend:

Lover are a fabulous Australian based brand whose styles will just blow you away. Check out this amazing flared short lace and sheer dress from their Nocturnal collection.

Reiss’ new spring summer collection for 2013 is a line I’ll be featuring on the blog very soon.  This Portofino jumpsuit caught my eye as a very unique design, also their Lola white quilted fit and flare dress. I love Reiss, I would snap all their collections up in a flash if I could, they are so perfect for work and play.

Finally I’ve been thinking a great deal about shoes this week.  My go-to-shoe-shopping is at Zara and right now their multi-coloured lace up sandals are making me drool….

A little shopping inspiration for your weekend ahead, Blog Reader!

The lingerie brand Made By Noemi perfectly straddles that line between functional and sensual – their designs are comfortable and beautiful, no less so than this lovely bodysuit with shoulder ties.  It’s no secret that I am a fan of the bodysuit.  I added this piece to my collection after Made by Noemi held a half price sale over the Christmas holidays.  At such a fabulous price I could not resist – there is a 50% sale on swimwear right now if you are interested!

Designer Noemi Ivanovas is a true beauty; Amelie-meets-Bond-girl.  Her collections are designed to be the go-to pieces women love and wear again and again because they have that magical power of making her feel amazing…  I think Noemi succeeds very well at this with the simplest of styles like the body – having emerged from the bathing suit, camisole and panties, the body is that perfect cross-over combination that can be worn underneath sweaters or alone with high waist trousers.  Here I’ve paired my suit with my Paige Denim Jimmy jeans, bought at Selfridges denim hall, the perfect stop for finding a new style of boyfriend pants.

Made by Noemi’s collections are inspired by such a wonderful variety of things like film, historical figures, eras and paintings.  One of my favourites was influenced by the work of realist painter Edward Hopper: ‘In the colour shadow of Edward‘, a soft and feminine collection with a vintage feel and a pretty pastel colour palette.  Her ‘Base‘ collection is a series of basic, comfortable and well made pieces, the perfect foundations for a lingerie wardrobe.

This is perhaps my last opportunity to be super slouchy for a while, Blog Reader, as this weekend I move home for a new job that starts the following week.  I can’t wait to take some photos in my new setting and use the surroundings for StyleOnTheCouch posts.  I’ve spoken before on the blog of how much I love change – this weekend represents another really exciting move forwards in life for me so apologies if I seem a little absent here and on social media whilst I do some exploring and get myself sorted!  I still have lots of fashion week posts and reviews to bring you so watch this space.  Have a lovely weekend!
