I spent a remarkable amount of time browsing summer sales this weekend, Blog Reader. Whilst I may mostly have been dreaming (or should I say, drooling) of that special piece from Erdem or Peter Pilotto to take with me on honeymoon later this year, I did remember that summer sales are an excellent time to make investments on show stopping or classic pieces that will carry you into the fashion future and never get ‘old’.
First things first though, a little summer sales advice (especially of the online variety).
1. Make a plan – If you haven’t got many special events on this year, nor does your wardrobe resemble that of Daphne Guinness, that spectacular dress or gown might be a waste of your hard earned cash. Repeat this mantra several times just so you get it, Blog Reader. Decide what you want to invest in at a bargain price and stick with it.
2. Buy double – if you really haven’t found that perfect pair of slim fit black trousers and you stumble across the perfect pair in the sale, you may want to think about buying too. Some great bargains don’t often come round again…
3. Remember your body type and style aesthetic – summer sales (or any sales for that matter) are not times to experiment with fashion. Stick to what you know and what you know works for you. That McQueen jumpsuit, whilst an absolute bargain, may not reaaaally be your thing.
So. Without further ado, some of my favourite sales on presently:
