When it comes to comfortable lingerie, the sort you want to wear day in and day out, I have a few favourites and it suddenly struck me the other day that I hadn’t written a Friday feature about them. B.Tempt’d by Wacoal is one of these collections, a line that produces comfortable and pretty bras and briefs designed to give great shape and style. One of my ‘essentials’ from the B.Tempt’d line is the B.wow’d Push Up Bra. Available in pink, lilac and wine, the bra has moulded cups and a scalloped hem perfect for under a tee or fitted dress. Their Lace Kiss Bralet, a soft cup style, is another of my favourites.
I know, Blog Reader, that spring has finally sprung when I’m attracted to colourful lingerie such as the spring brights Made by Niki are dazzling us with this year. For me to recommend colourful designs you know that it has to be something a bit spectacular. Made by Niki have brought out a hedonistic, peplum-heavy collection in canary yellow, azure blue, barbie pink and jet black for summer, guaranteed to have you cha-cha-ing around the bedroom. I love the peplum shoulder holster - shoulder detail is big this year (I wrote before about Murmur Clothing’s bust harness, see that feature here).
A little bit reminiscent of Madonna’s La Isla Bonita with a splash of an Ibizan summer thrown in for good measure, there is a lot of feel-good-factor in Made by Niki SS13. Buy at Faire Frou Frou, Teddies for Bettys and online at the Made by Niki store.
A couple of weeks ago I brought you Mimi Holliday as the Friday lingerie feature and this week I turn the spotlight on Mimi’s older sister, Damaris. A provocative and decadent label, Damaris rolls out a sensational collection of light and bright neon for spring 2012.
Sticking to spring trends of sheer and lace this is a very playful range of lingerie and also somewhat of a statement. Fresh, vibrant and zesty but exuding a great deal of romance, Damaris have some lovely (with a hint of cheekiness) signature details such as knickers with ribbons and ties – this Dip Dab brief (below) in hot pink is one of my favourite pieces from the collection; one half of a delicate pink silk and lace set with a cute and daring peep derriere:
The deep v necklines are also incredibly alluring. I like that Damaris has included some shaping here with underwiring, adding some practical support and structure to a very flattering design. Many of the collections feature a bodysuit that creates a lovely silhouette; the lace detail around the bust and the plunge front of the jet black Tutti Frutti body is very sleek – add to this a velvet trim and it’s a wonderfully classic piece.
Highly stylish from every angle, Damaris have capitalised on one of the biggest trends for spring with this amazing collection. It’s perfect for summer days.
I already have my set, Blog Reader – which is your favourite? Oh, and just one final piece of advice – don’t forget to turn around….
