Cosabella_ErinFetherston_BridalLingerieI feel I need to counterbalance the sudden wintry cold here in England, Blog Reader, with the romantic summertime glow of this editorial for Cosabella‘s new collection, a collaboration with designer Erin Fetherston. This new bridal collection for spring 2014 is the brand’s first collaboration. Being a new bride herself and in love with the idea of a bridal trousseau, the line is a beautiful mix of Fetherston’s feminine and ethereal touch combined with Cosabella’s signature mesh.

One of my favorite designs is the soft pink bra and brief (image two).  It looks incredibly romantic yet still sexy and seductive – the sheer floral lace has a smooth scalloped edge that lays flat against the skin and it is accompanied by a silky satin ribbon trim – a balletic flourish of a finish.

It is also a full line of bridal underpinning in a monochrome and candy coloured palette.  Cosabella believe that the collection has provided them with the opportunity to expand their reach by creating the fairytale pieces that brides love so much. After my own wedding in September I know that bridal lingerie can be as important as the wedding dress itself – so any brides out there looking for the perfect luxury fairytale are encouraged to check out this collection when it lands in stores in early 2014.

Sorry for the late posting this week, Blog Reader! I’ve been away on a training course so there is a lot of writing to catch up with this week. Have a lovely weekend! StyleOnTheCouch xo

Friday Lingerie Lust: Naked Princess ‘A Thousand Kisses Deep’

Back in June I featured the first collection from lingerie and boudoir brand Naked Princess.  Named ‘Lovely Ever After‘; a gorgeous collection of lace, cashmere and modal fabrics in styles designed to complement the female figure beautifully was one of my most popular Friday features.

This week I’m presenting the second collection from Naked Princess, entitled A Thousand Kisses Deep‘.  Inspired by founder Jordana Woodland’s love of exquisite lace and couture lingerie these pieces have a special occasion feel, with some easily falling under that favourite category of mine, out-to-wear – like this boudoir garter camisole (above and below):

In this post I’m just focussing on the lingerie within the autumn winter 2012 collection.  I’m so much in love with the new additions to the lip and body care line they deserve a feature of their own another time – like this body and boudoir candle.

When the wax melts to a touchable temperature it is transformed into a massage oil.  Below: My Naked Princess collection. Je suis fan? Moi?

The philosophy of Naked Princess is close to my own heart.  A luxe and comfortable collection aimed at inspiring women to “live beautifully, love deeply and reign joyfully” I think these pieces make a wonderful gift or investment in yourself.  Below, the Chantilly Lace Robe with plunge neckline:

I was lucky to meet with co-founder Rebecca Frank before I left NYC to preview the spring summer collection for 2013, named ‘Butterflies Begin’.  Heavy on lace and introducing some soft colours (lavender, rose and peach) it’s another exciting collection for its inner wear / outerwear potential.  And gorgeously luxurious. All of it.

Friday Lingerie Lust: Bordelle Bridal

As we enter wedding season, this is my first Friday feature dedicated to bridal lingerie.  One of my favourite labels, the UK based team at Bordelle have produced a wonderful new collection of bridal designs in keeping with their provocative and sexy aesthetic.

I was very lucky to see some of the pieces from this collection back in February when I visited the Bordelle team in London.  Sticking with signatures such as the cage dress, waspie and open cup bra, Bordelle work with a stark white, creamy champagne and blush colour scheme and play with some delightful new fabric textures.  Tulle and hand crafted lace bring a softer, lighter touch to their classics.

My favourite pieces from the new collection are the Confetti Lace Angela Dress (top image, third along) and the Gia Shelf Bra and Bettie High Waist Brief (below, left).

What shouldn’t go unnoticed about the new line however are the wonderful accessories that compliment the lingerie.  A series of bracelets, pearl garters and nipplets have also been produced.

So there you have it. Get thee to the altar……!

Select pieces from Bordelle’s new bridal collection are now available at Mis En Cage - a place I really need to visit in Paris – and will be launching soon on the Bordelle Website.  Images: Bordelle, Mis En Cage, Petite Coquette.

Have a lovely weekend, Blog Reader! StyleOnTheCouch xo

Note: Bordelle recently collaborated with the charity Oxfam and supermodel Daphne Self on ‘The Big Bra Hunt‘, re-working a Jean Paul Gaultier classic. Their Daphne Conical Body is available to buy online, with 15% of proceeds donated to Oxfam’s campaign in aid of Senegalese women living in poverty.  Congrats Bordelle for both your amazing design and working so hard for this cause!
