Friday Lingerie Lust: Lascivious AW12/13

It is with great excitement, Blog Reader, that I bring you the new autumn winter 2012 collection by Lascivious for this week’s Friday Lingerie Lust.  One of my most lust-worthy features to date, this season Lascivious treat us to three new amazing and sexually explosive collections inspired by ‘love’ – Lola, Isla and Cara – whilst retaining their signature classics for us to enjoy all year round, such as Lila (below) and Kitty (final image, below – and yes, MIAOW).

“Our autumn winter 12 collection is inspired by the notion of love as a binding entity – something you want to be chained to; lustful, base and raw. This mood and idea has been deconstructed to draw inspiration literally from flesh and bone – from our Lola collection, with its sinuous flowing design lines, through to Cara, which features an ivory bone colour over which a luxe gunmetal chain is digitally printed.
There is also a circular theme running through the ranges, with eyelets, circular cut outs, mesh and components. The Isla collection features a patent leather playsuit that can be laced in any way the wearer chooses – the ultimate in restrictive freedom; and a new collaborative collar and cuffs with Fraulein Kink, available for wholesale for the first time. Highlights of leather and [faux] fur are included to stimulate the senses; the juxtoposition of hard and soft (heart and bone) echoing the central themes for all AW12 ranges” ~ Lascivious

Regular Blog Readers might already have spotted my favourite piece from the new collection – image top shows the Isla Long Body Piece and thong, the body garment being a striking show-piece made from eyelet tape which can be fastened and tied in many different ways to harness the body.  I’m already envisaging this as both inner and outerwear and I’m really impressed with the styling of this piece in the editorial.  Lascivious, this is just why I love you…!

My joint favourite has to be the Lola Basque (above).  A beautifully dramatic body with pleated fins at the hips and contrasting cut outs and panelling, the removable suspender attachments allow this piece to be worn as inner or outerwear too.  It’s a very modern interpretation of the traditional basque and one done very well.

The classics from Lascivious include some fabulous ivory pieces, and at this point I have to give them a shout out for naming one of their collections after me.  Above: Sarah-Lou - delicate French hand-beaded lace, silk and an oyster satin bow.

Finally, Cara (above), created in-house by the Lascivious team.  Subversive and provocative, Cara is a limited edition range of bra and briefs/string, suspender and vest – get in there quick if it takes your fancy, I can guarantee it will not be around long.

I salute you, Lascivious for your continued effort at being fashion forward, directional lingerie.  You can catch the brand at Curve in New York City this year too.

Have a wonderful weekend, Blog Reader! It looks like being great weather in NYC and I’m hoping to enjoy the outdoors, humidity permitting. I’m also planning a trip to Charleston next weekend, so if anyone has any suggestions of things to do or places to go please leave me a comment below.  I think it’s going to be an exciting trip!

Friday Lingerie Lust: Tatu Couture

This week, Blog Reader, I bring you an exciting new find in directional lingerie.  Luisa Sidoli is the designer behind Tatu Couture, a label integrating tattoos with lingerie design.  The result is an edgy, dramatic collection of graphic, body sculpting pieces – featuring high-waisted knickers, bodysuits and boy shorts.

Now in her second collection, Luisa is providing me with the authenticity of a tattoo minus any potential pain or regret. I’ve always wanted a tattoo (I just need to work out the details, watch this space, Blog Reader) and until then I can happily work with Luisa’s designs.  Images here are largely from Tatu Couture’s second collection: ‘Sweet Surrender’, sitting alongside the previous ‘Illusion‘ range.  I love how Tatu Couture is evolving – for spring summer 2013 we see hints of the 1950s in new shapes and silhouettes such as the Lola Body (image directly above) with its V wiring.

My favourite addition to the collection is the soft cup bra (above).  The introduction of Chantilly lace and ivory as a new colour gives a softness to the otherwise dramatic seductiveness of Luisa’s pieces.

Sweet Surrender oozes an intense sensuality, reflective of a 1950’s Sicily with equal amounts of sex appeal and glamour. It combines a subtle blend of sophistication and rebelliousness with a play on the 50’s silhouettes and the alluring scenes of Baroque Italian culture.” ~ Tatu Couture

Body art meets fashion forward lingerie at Tatu Couture.  I see the bodysuits very much within the underwear as outerwear vein and I have my eye on the ivory Lola body for later in the year….  If you are in NYC you can buy Tatu Couture from Marc and Max on Bleecker Street.  The collection is also available to purchase online (with spring summer 2013 available to buy from November).

So hands up – who has a tattoo? I’d like some inspiration please….

Have a fabulous weekend, Blog Reader! StyleOnTheCouch xo

Friday Lingerie Lust: Julia Restoin-Roitfeld for Kiki de Montparnasse

“I buy lingerie for myself, not even for my boyfriend. I think it is really important for a woman to feel good about herself and buying lingerie that makes you feel good is a great way to start. Even if it’s just for yourself—even if no one else sees it—you know it, you feel it, and I believe it gives you that extra confidence.”  ~ Julia Restoin-Roitfeld in Elle Magazine

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld’s collaboration with Kiki de Montparnasse is a vintage inspired capsule collection for the ‘femme fatale’.  The campaign images make me want to be Ms Restoin-Roitfeld if I can wake up looking so glamorous in the mornings, as for the lingerie well it’s hard to tell the detail in the sepia-style photos – I feel these are more of a teaser campaign to get me interested. For me that is working!

What I can see, a mixture of satin, lace and bows is appealing.  The black basque reminds me of Lascivious’s Josephine which has been on my wish list for some time now.

Another standout piece in the collection is the lace dressing down (image, top) with bell sleeves.  Very pretty, feminine and seductive.

The launch of the range at the NYC Kiki boutique was a star studded event attended by Carine, Leigh Lezark, Derek Blasberg and Natalie Joos, amongst others.  I am hoping this collection lives up to it’s hype, so we can all find the femme fatale within us…
