A girl has to do a little shopping on her holiday, right? Two weeks ago my travels around the West Coast of America had a grand finale in Los Angeles, where I was able to pay a visit to the fabulous Faire Frou Frou lingerie boutique, a place that to my joy stocks most of the labels I write about on Fridays. The boutique deserves a feature all to itself and I will post this over the next few weeks, but here is another of my underwear as outerwear outfit posts, as I purchased this fabulous Result Wear slip after Faire Frou Frou’s gorgeous owner Alison recommended it to me. I wore it with my Anthropologie maxi skirt to Shutters on The Beach for cocktails on the last day of my holiday
I can’t stress enough the importance of good foundation garments to give clothes great shape and to make you feel fabulous. This is not so much about squishing things in (everyone’s had a bad experience with something like Spanx, surely?!) but accentuating curves and lines. Even for petite me. Even better then when the slip works as outwear, too. I’ve worn it a few times since arriving back in New York City; with pencil skirts and bandage dresses. What a wonderful find, these are actually attractive enough to look like outerwear. Spanx end up making you look, and feel, like a little stuffed sausage but these pieces look lovely.

To be honest, I have yet to delve into the world of shapewear, aside from very traditional corsets. Faire Frou Frou has long been on my list of shops to visit, and this post only has me more convinced. I would never have guessed that beautiful top was lingerie, it’s such a delicate, simple piece for every day wear!

oh sounds like you had a great two weeks on the west coast! So I am trying to get better about shapewear, spanx etc…. It really does make a difference. And I love the result wear slip!
Love the slip. I totally agree with you on wearing good quality under garments. I went to a consultation with an amazing lady at Neimans a few years back and since then I go to back to her all the time. You don’t need a lot of items but just great quality.
I guess in many ways Rosa I had a mini consultation from Alison, she really knew her stuff. I agree with all your comments here, good quality garments are the important thing!
