London Fever: Emma Louise London Printed Tee

I’m sad that the Olympics are drawing to a close.  I’ve been enjoying the panoramic shots of London town and feeling a surge of pride for the amazing organisation of the event and for Team GB’s successes.

It’s perhaps not surprising therefore that I’ve returned to one of my favourite UK designers Emma Louise London for this post.  This printed tee is part of Emma’s spring summer collection 2012, which you may have seen before on the blog.  The famous quote from Charles Dicken’s Oliver Twist is probably also quite symbolic of going for what you want, Blog Reader, which makes me like this top even more.

Photos by Lydia Hudgens.  The above showing yet again, that I should probably stick to Psychology, Blog Reader*.

Emma chose this quote as 2012 marks the bicentenary of Dicken’s birth (7th February 2012 to be precise).  His work was really quite amazing, transcending time, language and culture.  This is a fun tunic, paired best with skinny denim and a lot of colour to make the outfit stand out, I think.

Speaking of fun, time to get out in New York City and have me some. Tonight I’m celebrating the birthday of my blogger friend Anne in the West Village.  She may be returning to France soon where I can’t wait to visit her.  In the words of Dickens: “The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again.” See you in Paris, mon petit poulet!

Wearing: Skinny legging jean from GAP; Heels, Dorothy Perkins; Sunglasses (in hand) GUESS.  Tunic, Emma Louise London.  Bracelet (just seen) Reiss (closest match here). Bodysuit (just seen) Between The Sheets.

*Um, clearly not a serious shot, Blog Reader.

  1. Sarah, you always manage to look stunning and so feminine, not to mention that I love your irony! I finally have some time for blogging and I see so many beautiful outfits, especially that Preen dress…I’m also very sorry about the Olympics’ ending: not sure why, but I would watch almost any completitions and I always feel emotional for whoever wins! I hope you are enjoying a great w-e!

  2. oh, looking gorgeous once again..and have fun celebrating the birthday of your lovely Blogger friend Anne, all best wishes! xo

Sara you look stunning and I love that second photo because I think it gives a glimpse to your personality, I bet you are super fun in real life.
I was thinking of you and other friends from London when I was watching the Olympics this past week. I never been to London and the images from these past two weeks make me want to go so badly.

    • Hee hee I am fun in real life. At least I hope so, I certainly subscribe to the you can grow old but not up mentality :-) Do visit London sometime Rosa, it really is a fabulous place x

  5. I can’t think of a more quintessentially British and literary phrase than the one emblazoned on your beautiful Emma Louise London blouse. What a perfect choice to celebrate the last day of the Olympics in your home country. The addition of your beautiful blue skinnies just adds to the festive – and very British – feel of the look. And as for the second photo, I think you may be better suited to modelling than you think ;)

  6. This is such a nifty idea. How very British of you, Sarah! You really should consider modelling – I think once you become “the face” of some brand, the products would start flying off the shelves because you wear everything so well – if that makes sense!

  7. Loving Emma Louise’s collections, great post.

  8. I love that you paired it with a bright pant. Yr right, it works really well like that! I love this outfit. That top is rad.

  9. Oh my gosh I love you in that blue! (And I totally love how Dickens can read as a little scandalously sexy on you …)

  10. I love how relaxed yet totally chic this look is. And try as you might to joke about the photos, you look stunning!

  13. Reblogged this on Alexandria! and commented:
This outfit is right for so many reasons. 1) Simple, understated chic 2) its British fashion (need I say more?) 3) That Oliver Twist quote.

  14. I am nowhere near hip enough to wear a top like this ;P

  15. love that shirt and the blue jeans and also the eye glasses !!!!!!
