London Fashion Week AW14/15 Series: Marios Schwab
20th February 2014
Navy blue, monochrome, feather, buckles, body con and lace – lots for me to like within Marios Schwab‘s AW14 collection. Vogue calls Schwab “a lifelong student of the female form”. I’ve always quite liked Marios Schwab – possibly because of the form fitting, lingerie-esque hints in his designs (likely influenced by his father’s trade; he was a brassiere engineer). For AW14, Schwab’s usual seductive style was accompanied by a hefty dose of attitude:
“He sent out a parade of short black numbers worn with pointed kitten heels and leather biker or bomber jackets, so that his usual sense of glamour was reworked with a more realistic and pragmatic edge.” – Vogue.com
Hints of 50s Hollywood (feathers and trailing scarves) and sheer, Grecian style dresses characterized another collection that defined and celebrated feminine silhouettes. I’ll take number 25 please….
