I recently had the opportunity to try on some pieces from the 2012 fall winter collection by New York based designer Jennifer Chun. Having interviewed Jennifer for Lookbooks last year I was familiar with her modern tomboy style; Chun’s designs are a wonderful kind of casual sophistication that is chic and never stuffy.
For fall 2012 Jennifer has designed a striking collection of winter coats, jackets (image above, the hunter plaid db car coat) and separates that work together well to create a myriad of different looks. Fall 2012 is menswear inspired with a gorgeous lookbook to match.
Wearing, above left: shirt by Chun, skirt Rodarte for Opening Ceremony. Right; colourblock wool jersey Henley, Chun; skirt BCBG. Heels: Mango.
What I have always admired about Jennifer’s designs is the attention to detail. The buttons, the collars, the hemlines – all are made with care. Chun told me in our previous interview that her clothes are for those who want to be casual and understated without dressing down. Fall 2012 neatly accomplishes this with its impeccable tailoring, leather accents and deep burgundy and green hues.

You can buy Jennifer Chun from one of my favourite boutiques in Austin, Texas – By George and at Louis Boston (where you might bump into my good friend, blogger Mon Petit Chou Chou who is a regular visitor and also a fan of Jennifer Chun!)

Sarah my dear, you work Jennifer’s designs like few can- just stunning. I love how her line is versatile enough that two bloggers with such different style, always manage to find just the right peice. Lovely post!! XOXO
