Finding new designers in the places I travel to is one of my favourite things. I’m busy planning a trip to Turkey for early summer and I was feeling inspired to look around to see if I could find some lingerie for this week’s “lust” from the country. I found the very glamorous Else Lingerie which is surely going to find it’s way into my suitcase come the end of my trip.
Else is the creation of founder and designer Ela Onur, born in Istanbul, who studied in the US before returning to Turkey to start her label in 2007.
“The whole idea behind Else is the effort to make a woman feel glamorous, confident and comfortable while carrying a special set of lingerie” Onur tells us. Else’s signature collection is made from 100% silk and hand crafted. There is also a smaller diffusion line on offer, Something Else - a more playful, youthful collection than the main range. My favourite collection so far is spring summer 2011, a gorgeously feminine mix of silk and lace in sugary pastels (pictures, above). Autumn winter of the same year was a marked change with geometric and Chevron patterns and uber sensual sheer fabrics (picture below):
Another very different overall look (I love a designer who innovates each time around, which Onur clearly does) is seen for 2012 – vibrant hues and floral prints in a collection based around a botanical theme (I see lingerie is big on nature this year, did you see last week’s lingerie feature, Blog Reader?)
Luckily we don’t all need to travel to Turkey to purchase Else Lingerie. (You will miss out on the amazing view from the Lycian Way and the delights of the sunken city Batik Sehir but I promise to post some photos later in the year, Blog Reader). You can buy Else from Journelle in NYC, BHLDN and the lovely Forty Winks boutique in Boston, MA. A full list of stockists is given on their website. What else do you need?!*
Have a great weekend! StyleOnTheCouch xo

So feminine and beautiful. Your lingerie posts are always the highlight of the end of my week.
Rosa that comment made me day. I sometimes wonder if readers are getting a bit bored of it…. but I love finding all these new labels to write about. xo
I really admire your devotion to and interest in the research of beautiful lingerie… But to be totally honest, I gave up reading about Else (although it is a stunning collection, I love those chevron stripes!) when I saw that you’re planning a trip to Turkey! Clearly, travel is my passion
I’m so incredibly envious. My parents went to Turkey in 2010 and I still haven’t forgiven them for leaving me behind. I can’t wait to see the sites through your eyes!

The pictures are just gorgeous. The blue set is my favorite, I love the sweet and feminine design.
Wow, Turkey is the last place I’d look to find a lingerie line, but look what you’ve found! Gorgeous!
I loved the pink cami
I think that first shot at the top is perfect with the StyleOnTheCouch design… if only she could have been reclining on a sofa… xo
The Else line is just to my taste: silky, feminine, simple lines. Love the colors too.
Oh my!!! Another gorgeous and inspiring post featuring lingerie
I adore the two in the second row of pictures! Gorgeous, beautiful, feminine and subtly seductive
