Christmas Lingerie Shopping (1): Teddies for Bettys

Each week during December, along with the usual Friday Lingerie Lust, I will be posting a feature about my go-to places to browse and purchase the most fabulous lingerie.  If you’re looking to buy intimates for Christmas, wish to make hints to a loved one (I suggest you leave this blog open under his or her nose by way of a subtle reminder), or want to keep your eye out for the New Year’s sales – these are the places I recommend to you.

The first of my Christmas Lingerie Shopping posts is the gorgeous boutique Teddies for Betties, in Austin, Texas. I met Ashley, Teddies boutique owner, during my trip to Austin over the summer.  She introduced me to labels I hadn’t heard of before (like Andres Sarda, one of Ashley’s personal favourites) and she stocks many brands that I adore: La Perla, Lascivious, and Chantelle can all be found here.

Things I love about Teddies for Bettys: the uber chic monochrome changing rooms; the writing on the walls – “where luxury is an everyday experience, not a special occasion” - and Ashley’s fabulous sense of humour (I love her Twitter feed, she always makes me laugh with her quotes and adventures).  The proof of the wonder of this boutique? I returned twice during my Texas visit!

Teddies for Bettys is an upscale boutique offering fashion forward and fine lingerie from mainstays such as, La Perla, Chantelle, Prima Donna and newcomers like Fleur of England and Lascivious. We specialize in bra fittings and offer the discriminating lingerie shopper high design and superior quality, in an atmosphere that is comfortable as well as beautiful.

What are your favourite collections:

Andres Sarda, Marie Jo, Chantelle and Cosabella (it is hard to limit this!)

What are your suggestions for Christmas gifts that will go down a treat?

Fleur of England for something sexy and absolutely luxurious, Chantelle’s Eternelle Demi in Passion Red – an absolutely gorgeous set that can be for a special occasion or everyday and Cosabella’s new collection ‘Cocoon‘.  It is a cashmere blend of loungewear that feels absolutely decadent on the skin.

Why Austin?

Our draw to Austin and the downtown area was the fact that the city is so progressive, recreational and supportive of local business.  Obviously being the music capital of the world helped!
