In September French Vogue underwent a makeover under the direction of editor in chief Emmanuelle Alt. A few visual tweaks here and there aimed at giving the magazine a more streamlined, ‘airier’ look that harked back to the 60s and 70s, the theme of the issue was ‘the colour black’. The cover featured Kate Moss, Lara Stone and Daria Werbowy each wearing the same stunning Dolce & Gabbana tulle gown.
Reading this issue provided a lot of inspiration for me fashion-wise. I recently came across the brand Max Studio, whose chiffon blouses are helping me to recreate the look of the Vogue Paris cover on a cheaper budget. My favourites from the selection below are this long-sleeved blouse (image below, top, left) and silk chiffon blouse (image below, bottom left)
Max Studio, a US brand, was founded in 1979 by designer Leon Max. Now a global presence with an online store and boutiques worldwide, (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Lily Cole and Katia Elizarova have all acted as ambassadors for the brand) they are an interesting site to explore. They offer clean and classic designs for casual wear or work wear but have a lovely selection of party dresses and accessories too.
The Max Studio site also offers a helpful search function – style search – and currently has offers with up to 70% off. My top sale picks are this single breasted cape and this modern take on the classic buttondown – the button front shirt.
