Manhattan Weekend…

The sun was out in force in Manhattan this weekend and it was my first chance to break out the mini dresses I love.  I first featured this ASOS dress on the blog at the very same time last year – proving that it’s a spring favourite of mine.  Sadly it’s no longer in stock but you can find similar ‘mini’ styles at ASOS here, here and here.  It’s a rather flirty little number – what can I tell you, when the sun comes out, I have a naughty glint in my eye…..!

This weekend was also a rather relaxed affair, a chance to catch up with friends, dream of summer holidays, look to the blue skies and indulge a little in my favourite things….

In the spirit of my current ‘accessories challenge’ I also wore my new Raj Bracelet (a ring and a bracelet as one) from Jewel Mint.  It’s the first of the two Coachella music weekends here in the US and I’ve been feeling a little inspired by the festival outfits I’ve been seeing from the event.  A little sparkle of gold metal, a little blue hue – my Sunday outfit.

How did you spend your weekend, Blog Reader?

Wearing: Pleated mini dress (old season) from ASOS; FeelnGood shoes in sapphire blue, Nine West; Raj Bracelet, Jewel Mint; Belt, also ASOS.

One of the good things about NYC is proper seasonal weather and corresponding changes in your wardrobe – was funny to discover I first feature this dress on the blog the same time last year! Thanks for visiting! x

Aww that would be very nice!! Very sweet of you! I hope I can visit soon I miss the city so much! How long have you lived in New York? It’s always nice to have a friend in New York :) being a big city I feel like I can get lost. I’ve been to NY three times and I always feel like it gets bigger to me. I’ve been in the fall and winter. Once I went in February and it was pouring rain and snowing so much. I didn’t get to enjoy it that much because I had to stay indoors. It must be lovely in the spring and summer!

Thanks! I haven’t bought a dress yet >.< she is getting married in court first then next year she's having the nice big party! I think I might just wear a yellow dress I have. Although, It would be nice to do some shopping this weekend and see what I find :)

I love everything about this outfit (including the winged liner ;). I was thinking about cutting my hair, but now that I’ve seen yours, which is roughly the same length as mine, I’m going to keep it :)

What length were you thinking? I did just see another Jennifer Aniston look and her hair is just below shoulder length and looks super flattering. I wanted to grow mine for a while now and I love it but it does take a lot of effort some mornings. I need to perfect the art of the messy ballerina bun I think! xo

Agreed! It’s the faffing in the morning that’s the killer, but long hair looks so pretty! I was thinking of cutting about two hand-widths, but I’ll see how I feel when I finally get to my hairdresser ;) I need to perfect the messy bun too!

You had such a lovely weekend girl. I love that piece from Jewelmint, so unique.
I basically was a busy lady this weekend, brunch with friends, checked out the new apartment my friend just moved into, went to a cake party (post coming soon) and of course, watched Mad Men.

I saw a small snapshot of this outfit on Instagram and that bracelet/ring combination caught my eye immediately! It’s such a wonderfully unique piece and it stands out beautifully next to the blue of your dress, which, I have to say, I can quickly see why is one of your spring favourites – the shade is just perfect, and so is the cut! It looks like you had a lovely weekend, that ice cream cone practically has me drooling :)

Cee I see you are quite at home on Instagram now! Great seeing your snapshots of life…. oh Cee I tell you that ice cream parlour is the best. Apart from the fact I need to detour round it most days to avoid being lured in lol.

Oo that sounds hard. How’s life in England? I’m back at the end of May to visit family and see friends before a wedding in Europe. I really enjoyed my last visit home, nice to visit again before getting too homesick as well…

You have no idea how much I want to hop on a plane to New York City, and stroll around Manhattan with you in the sunshine. Oh what fun we’d have! Taking in a bit of Fifth Avenue perhaps, and naturally ending up somewhere swank for a cooling refreshment in the form of some champagne! Love the dress on you, and you really pull off the unusual jewellery. x

Hey there you – that’s because we had such fun in London you’d be the perfect partner in crime. How’s life back home? Are you taking the new bag out for a spin this weekend?

    • says

Take a look at Jewel Mint! I had seen a few similar designs a while back but nothing current. A few people have asked me about this piece since I’ve been wearing it. Let me know if you should find anything similar and thanks so much for stopping by xo
